Young Artists in Chamber Music presents the next generation of performers from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, in an evening of chamber works spanning three centuries.

The programme moves from solo showpieces to trios, string quartets, and piano ensembles, tracing a path from Romantic masters such as Chopin, Schubert, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Dvořák, through the colour of Debussy and Shostakovich, and closing with contemporary voices that include Perennial Blossom, a new piano quintet by Thai composer Napat Ruankaew.

10:30–12:30 — Essential Piano Techniques at Each Grade with Lindsey Butterfield, experienced pianist, teacher and former Senior Examiner for Trinity College London. A holistic look at piano teaching that covers the essential techniques needed at each grade, drawing on popular Trinity College London exam pieces to build a solid technical foundation from the earliest levels. Conducted in English with Thai translation.

14:00–16:00 — Looking After Your Mind & Body for Musicians with Jirayu Techamanpong and Kalaya Phongsathorn, in collaboration with CUMEX. A practical session on preventing performance-related injury and managing the stress of performing, with body-alignment and relaxation techniques that musicians can put into practice straight away.

The Meeting of Strings: Moonlight on the Chao Phraya is a concert of Thai and Western harmony, bringing together performers of both traditions from the Department of Music, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University.

The programme opens with traditional Thai melodies on authentic instruments, moves through traditional tunes reimagined for the piano, and culminates in the Crocodile Trio by renowned educator and composer Nicholas Keyworth, a work that weaves together piano, cello, and ja-kae (Thai zither) to evoke a mystical journey along the Chao Phraya river.

This Mini Concert celebrates the prize-winning works of the Art Expressions Creative Arts Contest 2026, which invited young artists and the wider public to draw inspiration from a piece of music and express it through a different art form.

The programme brings together the award-winning creations, spanning visual, performing, language, and mixed-media works, alongside the soundscapes that inspired them, performed live by the artists themselves and guest musicians.
