The Future Leaders Speech Contest, organized by Eduprogress Co., Ltd. with support from Trinity College London, aims to provide a platform for young people aged 6-18 to showcase their English-speaking and leadership skills while developing confidence in public speaking. This event offers participants the opportunity to practice effective communication in English and fosters essential 21st-century skills crucial for success in the modern world.

The contest runs across two rounds: an online preliminary video submission round, and a live final round at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre for selected finalists. Participants compete within one of four age groups, each underpinned by a corresponding level of the Trinity College London Communication Skills framework. Development goals progress from foundational speaking confidence in the younger age groups to researched argument and analytical authority in the senior age groups.

To support participants with limited experience in speech preparation, all participants have the opportunity to join an optional Future Leaders Online Preparation Session, which introduces fundamental concepts of speech-writing, preparation, and delivery. Participants seeking a fuller project-based learning experience can choose to engage in optional self-study worksheets designed to provide additional practice before they begin writing and preparing their own speeches.

1. To provide a platform for young people to showcase their English-speaking and leadership skills, as well as develop confidence in public speaking.
2. To encourage young people to practice their English speaking and writing skills and provide them with a clear direction for improvement.
3. To present young people with the learning experience of preparing for and speaking in front of a live audience.
4. To expose young people to different topics and themes, allowing them to broaden their knowledge and expand their vocabulary.
5. To promote cultural and social awareness by providing a platform for young people from different backgrounds to come together and communicate in English.

Future Leaders Online Preparation Session: Participants may choose to join an Online Preparation Session covering the fundamentals of speech writing and delivery, complemented by self-study worksheets for additional practice. The session introduces the four core skill strands of the Trinity College London Communication Skills framework: Communication, Interaction, Analysis, and Performance. Together, these strands form the foundation of confident, effective public speaking and offer participants a clear set of skills to focus on as they prepare their speeches.

These activities are designed to provide additional learning opportunities and are entirely optional. Participation in these activities has no bearing on the adjudication. Educational content may be updated or adjusted at any time at the organizer's discretion without prior notice.

Preliminary Round: Each participant films themselves delivering a speech on a specified topic, followed by their responses to the Critical Thinking Task questions set for their age group. A single continuous take is required, with no edits between the two components, though a brief pause between them is expected. Completed videos are submitted via an online form. All participants receive a certificate of participation and written feedback from our panel of adjudicators. Qualifying participants are additionally awarded a gold, silver, or bronze medal, while those who do not qualify receive a Contest Memento.

Final Round: Ten gold medalists with the highest scores from each age group from the Preliminary Round will be selected to compete live on stage on Sunday 29 November 2026 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). The final round consists of a prepared speech on a specified topic, followed by a series of questions from the panel of adjudicators. First, Second and Third Prize winners will be named.

For the Preliminary Round, each participant who fully complies with the competition rules will receive a certificate of participation and a report form containing written feedback from our panel of adjudicators. Participants who achieve the required band of scores will also receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal. Those who do not qualify for a medal will receive a Contest Memento medal. These will be delivered through postal service on 30 November 2026.

For the Final Round, each participant will receive a finalist certificate and a report form containing constructive feedback from our panel of adjudicators. The first, second and third prize winners of each age group will receive an award trophy. First Prize winners of each age group will also receive a cash prize** of 5,000 THB and a complimentary entry to sit for a Trinity College London Communication Skills examiniation on Saturday 19 December 2026***.

Content: Participants are assessed on the relevance of their speech to the given topic and the clarity and coherence of their ideas. The evaluation considers the logical structure and flow of their arguments, as well as the originality, creativity, and depth of their perspective. A distinct personal voice and clear ownership of the ideas presented further strengthen the impact of their content.

Delivery: Participants are assessed on their fluency and clarity of pronunciation, ensuring the speech is easily understood. Effective pacing and well-timed pauses help to emphasise key points and sustain audience interest. Expressiveness through vocal variation, tone, energy, and purposeful body language is equally important in bringing the speech to life.

Leadership and Impact: Participants are assessed on their personal conviction and sincerity, showing genuine belief in their message and an authentic connection to their topic. Confidence, stage presence, and the ability to read and respond to audience attention play an important role in capturing and holding listeners. Persuasiveness is also essential, demonstrating the speaker's capacity to inspire, influence, and leave a lasting impression.

Critical Thinking Task (Preliminary Round) and Questions (Final Round): Participants are assessed on the relevance and thoughtfulness of their responses, the fluency with which they are delivered, and the leadership qualities they convey. Strong responses demonstrate genuine engagement with the question, the ability to think on one's feet, and a clear willingness to develop or defend ideas under discussion.

• Preliminary round
  • Filming guidelines:
    • Record yourself in a quiet environment devoid of echo or audio distortion. Both portrait and landscape videos are accepted.
    • Select a well-lit location, ensuring clear visibility. Opt for at least Full HD 1080p quality.
    • Mount the camera on a tripod or stable surface. In case of unavailability, minimize camera movement – no pans, zooms, or shifts.
    • The video must be filmed in one continuous take. Post-recording edits or enhancements are strictly prohibited. Any form of manipulation will result in disqualification. The committee reserves the right to withhold certificates and feedback if video or audio alteration is detected.
    • Speak directly to the camera while filming. If your speech does not contain a self-introduction that includes your full name, please state your full name and age group, followed by a short pause, before beginning your speech.
    • Please strictly adhere to the time limit of your age group. Up to 30 seconds beyond the time limit will be permitted. Any content exceeding this additional time will not be evaluated, leading to an incomplete speech that incurs a deduction of marks.
    • The timing of your speech starts from the moment you begin your speech. Speeches that fall short of the time limit by more than 10 seconds may be disqualified.
    • Although the use of visual aids such as pictures, diagrams or small objects is permissible, it is not obligatory, and no extra marks will be awarded for their inclusion. Please note that digital visual aids are not allowed.
    • Refrain from engaging in activities that might be interpreted as reading from a script. Your delivery should be natural and spontaneous.
  • Speech content:
    • Your content should be positive and constructive, e.g. aimed at the betterment of individuals or society.
    • Avoid topics that involve politics, religious beliefs, violence, or other topics inappropriate for minors. Discriminatory messages or messages containing profanity will be immediately disqualified.
  • Critical Thinking Task:
    • The Critical Thinking Task is separate from the speech and should be answered after your speech concludes, not as part of it. Take a short pause after finishing your speech, then introduce the Critical Thinking Task with a lead-in phrase such as “And now for the Critical Thinking Task…” You may optionally restate the question before giving your answer.
  • Uploading and submitting:
    • Upload your video to YouTube or Google Drive and ensure that the setting allows viewing by the public.
    • Title your video file in the following format:
      Future Leaders 2026 [Name Surname, Age group]
      i.e. Future Leaders 2026 [Sirikanya Jingtrakarn, Age group 1]
    • You will receive your log-in details to submit your link via an online platform on 15 September 2026.
  • Submit the link to your recorded speech between 15-30 September 2026. The submission deadline is 23:59:59 Bangkok time (GMT +7) on 30 September 2026. No late entries will be accepted.
  • There is limited availability for the Preliminary Round. Applications are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Application may close early if the limit has been reached.
  • Your video link must remain accessible until results are announced. If the adjudicating panel is unable to access your video, you will be disqualified from the competition.
• Final round
  • The ten Gold Medal winners with the highest scores in the Preliminary Round will advance to the Final Round. Additional participants may qualify in case of tied scores.
  • The finalists will be announced on 1 November 2026 on the Future Leaders website. If you are a finalist, you will be contacted by the organizers to confirm your participation in the final round.
  • The Live Final Round is scheduled to take place at the Bangkok Art and Cultural Center on Sunday 29 November 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Your competition time slot will be announced approximately 2 weeks before the competition date.
  • The adjudicating panel reserves the right to declare no winner if no candidates meet the required standards. The adjudicating panel's decision is final and cannot be appealed.
  • Speech
    • The speech will be delivered on a stage in front of an audience. The speech must be from memory. Any use of a written script will disqualify the participant from receiving an award.
    • Participants are advised to follow a smart casual dress code. School uniforms are allowed.
    • Participants will speak using a hand-held microphone.
    • Participants are required to submit a short outline of their speech in the form of bullet points in advance. The length should not exceed 300 words.
    • Participants may choose to use a single-page visual aid to accompany their speech. The size should be 2560x1080 (21:9). This will be shown on a screen behind them. The visual aid should contain minimal text.
    • If a participant exceeds the allotted time for their speech, they will be asked to stop.
  • Questions
    • Participants are expected to remain on the stage after finishing their speech and respond to questions from the adjudicating panel.
    • The questions will be related to the speech. For example, the adjudicating panel may ask the participants to clarify or expand on a point they have made in their speech, or to respond to counter-arguments, or to give opinions or speculate on related ideas.

เนื้อหา: ประเมินจากเนื้อหาสุนทรพจน์ที่ตรงประเด็นและมีการสื่อสารความคิดอย่างชัดเจน มีโครงสร้างที่สมดุลและมีการเรียบเรียงความคิดเชื่อมโยงอย่างสมเหตุสมผลตามหลักตรรกะตั้งแต่ต้นจนจบ ผู้เข้าแข่งขันควรคัดสรรเนื้อหาที่แสดงออกถึงความคิดริเริ่มสร้างสรรค์ และสื่อให้เห็นถึงมุมมองที่ลึกซึ้งเกี่ยวกับประเด็นที่เลือกมาพูด

การถ่ายทอด: ประเมินจากความสามารถการถ่ายทอดเนื้อหาสุนทรพจน์เป็นคำพูด โดยพิจารณาจากการออกเสียง ทั้งระดับคำ และรูปประโยค การใช้เสียง น้ำเสียง และภาษากายที่เหมาะสม รวมถึงความคล่องแคล่วและความต่อเนื่องของการพูดโดยรวม ผู้เข้าแข่งขันควรกล่าวสุนทรพจน์อย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ ไม่ควรแสดงออกถึงการท่องจำเนื้อหาทั้งหมดอย่างตายตัว

    • ภาพผู้เข้าแข่งขันที่ปรากฏในวิดีโอ จะต้องเห็นโดยชัดเจน ไม่มีสิ่งรบกวน และจะต้องบันทึกด้วยคุณภาพระดับ Full HD 1080p ขึ้นไป
    • ควรตั้งอุปกรณ์สำหรับบันทึกวิดีโอให้มั่นคง โดยอาจจะใช้ขาตั้งกล้อง หรืออุปกรณ์เสริมอื่น ๆ เพื่อไม่ให้เกิดการสั่นไหวของภาพ กรณีที่ไม่มีอุปกรณ์ดังกล่าว ให้ตั้งอุปกรณ์สำหรับบันทึกวิดีโอในบริเวณที่สามารถบันทึกวิดีโอได้คุณภาพที่เหมาะสม โดยจะต้องไม่มีการซูมภาพเข้าออก หรือเคลื่อนไหวกล้องใด ๆ ทั้งสิ้น
    • บันทึกวิดีโอเป็นการถ่ายยาวเทคเดียว ห้ามทำการแก้ไข ตัดต่อ กดหยุดระหว่างบันทึก หรือใส่เอฟฟคใด ๆ ทั้งภาพและเสียง หากตรวจพบ คณะกรรมการมีสิทธิ์ไม่รับพิจารณาผลงานนั้น ๆ หรือในกรณีตรวจพบภายหลังจากการประกาศผลการแข่งขัน คณะกรรมการมีสิทธิ์ยกเลิกผลการแข่งขัน และขอให้ผู้เข้าแข่งขันส่งรางวัลใด ๆ ที่อาจได้รับกลับคืน โดยไม่มีการคืนค่าสมัคร
    • โปรดมองที่อุปกรณ์บันทึกวิดีโอเสมือนพูดกับผู้ฟัง โดยในวิดีโอต้องเห็นใบหน้าได้ชัดเจน
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันสามารถแนะนำตัวตอนเริ่มสุนทรพจน์ หรือไม่แนะนำตัวก็ได้ กรณีที่ในสุนทรพจน์ไม่ได้มีการพูดแนะนำตัวเองรวมอยู่แล้ว กรุณาบอกชื่อและนามสกุลของตนเองตอนต้นคลิป จากนั้นหยุดพักเล็กน้อยแล้วค่อยเริ่มการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะต้องกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ภายในเวลาที่กำหนดของแต่ละ Age Group โดยอนุโลมให้มีความยาวเกินกำหนดได้ไม่เกิน 30 วินาที หรือสั้นกว่ากำหนดไม่เกิน 10 วินาที คณะกรรมการสงวนสิทธิ์ไม่พิจารณาเนื้อหาในคลิปวิดีโอหลังเกินกำหนด ซึ่งอาจส่งผลต่อคะแนนที่ได้รับ และไม่รับพิจารณาผลงานที่สั้นกว่ากำหนดเกิน 10 วินาที โดยนับเวลาตั้งแต่วินาทีแรกที่ผู้เข้าแข่งขันเริ่มการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ หากผู้เข้าแข่งขันเลือกที่จะไม่แนะนำตัว และเริ่มต้นโดยการแค่บอกชื่อและรุ่นการแข่งขัน การจับเวลาจะนับตั้งแต่ผู้เข้าแข่งขันบอกชื่อและรุ่นแข่งขันเสร็จสิ้น
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันสามารถนำภาพประกอบ สื่ออื่น ๆ หรือสิ่งของขนาดเล็ก เข้ามาประกอบเนื้อหาในการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ได้ แต่ไม่มีการให้คะแนนเพิ่มเติมในส่วนนี้ โดยสื่อที่นำมาประกอบอาจเป็นภาพ สิ่งพิมพ์ หรือสิ่งของขนาดเล็ก แต่ห้ามใช้สื่อดิจิทัลทุกประเภท
    • การกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ควรเป็นการพูดอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ ไม่ใช่การอ่านหรือการท่องจำแบบตายตัว
  • เนื้อหาของสุนทรพจน์:
    • เนื้อหาของสุนทรพจน์ ควรเป็นเนื้อหาที่สร้างสรรค์และเป็นประโยชน์ อาทิเช่น การพูดเกี่ยวกับการพัฒนาตนเองหรือสังคม
    • หลีกเลี่ยงเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับการเมือง ศาสนา ความเชื่อ ความรุนแรง หรือหัวข้ออื่น ๆ ที่ไม่เหมาะสมต่อผู้เยาว์ และห้ามใช้คำพูดไม่สุภาพในเนื้อหา หากตรวจพบว่ามีเนื้อหาที่ไม่เหมาะสม ไม่ว่าโดยตรงหรือโดยส่อเจตนา คณะกรรมการสงวนสิทธิ์ในการไม่รับพิจารณาผลงานดังกล่าว และไม่คืนค่าสมัครทุกกรณี
  • การตอบคำถาม Critical Thinking Task:
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะต้องตอบคำถาม Critical Thinking Task แยกจากส่วนสุนทรพจน์ ไม่ใช่รวมเข้าไปเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของเนื้อหาสุนทรพจน์ โดยหลังกล่าวสุนทรพจน์จบควรเว้นระยะเล็กน้อย จากนั้นค่อยตอบคำถามโดยการนำเข้าสู่คำถามด้วยวลี เช่น “And now for the Critical Thinking Task…” และอาจทวนคำถามหรือไม่ทวนคำถามก่อนทำการตอบก็ได้
  • การอัปโหลดคลิปวิดีโอและส่งผลงาน:
    • อัปโหลดคลิปวิดีโอที่เป็นผลงานผ่านช่องทาง YouTube หรือ Google Drive โดยตั้งค่าให้เป็นสาธารณะ
    • ตั้งชื่อไฟล์ผลงานด้วยรูปแบบดังนี้:
      Future Leaders 2026 [ชื่อ นามสกุล (ภาษาอังกฤษ), Age Group]
      ตัวอย่างเช่น Future Leaders 2026 [Sirikanya Jingtrakarn, Age Group 1]
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะได้รับล็อกอินสำหรับการส่งผลงานภายในวันที่ 15 กันยายน 2569 ผ่านทางอีเมลที่ระบุไว้ในใบสมัคร
  • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันสามารถส่งผลงานได้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 15-30 กันยายน 2569 โดยหมดเขตการรับผลงานในเวลา 23:59:59 วันที่ 30 กันยายน 2569 ตามเวลาประเทศไทย
  • รับสมัครผู้เข้าแข่งขันจำนวนจำกัด หากมีผู้สมัครเข้าร่วมเป็นจำนวนมาก คณะผู้จัดงานขอสงวนสิทธิ์ให้แก่ผู้ที่ส่งผลงานก่อนตามลำดับ และอาจมีการปิดรับสมัครก่อนกำหนด
  • ลิงก์วิดีโอสุนทรพจน์จะต้องเปิดให้เข้าถึงได้ตลอดระยะเวลาการตัดสิน จนกว่าจะมีการประกาศรางวัล หากคณะกรรมการไม่สามารถเข้าถึงวิดีโอสุนทรพจน์ได้ ผู้เข้าแข่งขันอาจถูกตัดสิทธิ์การแข่งขัน
• รอบชิงชนะเลิศ
  • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันที่ได้รับเหรียญทองจากรอบคัดเลือก ที่ทำคะแนนสูงสุด 10 คนจะสามารถเข้าแข่งขันต่อในรอบชิงชนะเลิศ โดยอาจมีผู้เข้าแข่งขันเพิ่มเติมในกรณีคะแนนเท่ากัน
  • ประกาศรายชื่อผู้เข้ารอบชิงชนะเลิศวันที่1 พฤศจิกายน 2569 บนเว็บไซต์ Future Leaders ผู้เข้าแข่งขันที่ได้เข้ารอบจะได้รับการติดต่อจากคณะกรรมการผู้จัดงานเพื่อยืนยันการเข้าร่วมในรอบชิงชนะเลิศ
  • รอบชิงชนะเลิศมีกำหนดจัดขึ้นที่หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร ใน วันอาทิตย์ที่ 29 พฤศจิกายน 2569 เวลา 10.30 น. ถึง 19.00 น.
  • คณะกรรมการสงวนสิทธิ์ในการไม่มอบรางวัลหากไม่มีผู้เข้าแข่งขันที่มีคุณสมบัติเหมาะสมและทำคะแนนได้ถึงเกณฑ์ โดยคำตัดสินของคณะกรรมการถือเป็นที่สิ้นสุด
  • สุนทรพจน์
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะแสดงสุนทรพจน์บนเวทีต่อหน้าผู้ชม โดยจะต้องกล่าวสุนทรพจน์จากความจำเท่านั้น หากมีการดูบทพูดจะถือว่าสละสิทธิ์การได้รับรางวัล
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันควรแต่งกายด้วยชุดลำลองสุภาพ (Smart casual) หรือเครื่องแบบนักเรียน
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะต้องพูดโดยใช้ไมโครโฟนแบบถือ
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะต้องส่งโครงร่างสุนทรพจน์สั้น ๆ ล่วงหน้า ในรูปแบบ bullet points ความยาวไม่เกิน 300 คำ
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันอาจเลือกใช้สไลด์หน้าเดียวประกอบการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ โดยสไลด์ดังกล่าวจะฉายขึ้นจอด้านหลังผู้พูด สไลด์นี้ควรมีตัวอักษรให้น้อยที่สุด
    • หากผู้เข้าแข่งขันใช้เวลาบนเวทีเกินเวลาที่กำหนด อาจถูกขอให้จบการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ทันที
  • คำถาม
    • ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะต้องอยู่บนเวทีหลังจากจบการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์เพื่อตอบคำถามจากคณะกรรมการตัดสิน
    • คำถามจะเกี่ยวข้องกับสุนทรพจน์ที่ผู้แข่งขันเพิ่งกล่าวจบ ตัวอย่างเช่น คณะผู้ตัดสินอาจขอให้ผู้เข้าแข่งขันชี้แจงหรือขยายประเด็นเพิ่มเติม หรือตอบสนองต่อข้อโต้แย้ง หรือให้แสดงความคิดเห็นหรือคาดการณ์ในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้อง
